The rush process happens every semester. We hold a few recruitment events before our formal rush. All new recruits will go through a candidacy period lasting between 6 to 10 weeks. All candidates are required to be Eagle Scouts and undergraduates at The Ohio State University. Students at regional campuses are allowed to join as long as they attend the required events.

For the Spring 2019 semester, we are hosting the following events for anyone who is interested in joining Epsilon Tau Pi. All are welcome.

Wednesday, January 9 – Informational Meeting in Lazenby 034 from 8pm-9pm
Thursday, January 10 – Informational Meeting in Lazenby 034 from 8pm-9pm
Saturday, January 12 – *** CANCELLED *** Service Event at Chadwick Arboretum 10am-12pm (meet at the SW rotunda of the Schottenstein Center)

Tuesday, January 15 – Indoor Game Night in Hitchcock 031 from 7:30pm-9pm

What happens at these events:

  • Informational Meeting
These meetings are a chance for us to tell you about ourselves and what you could expect from the Rush process. In addition to this, we provide dinner and time to talk to get to know some brothers and ask any questions that you may have about the fraternity. Attendance at informational meetings are not required to rush, though it is strongly encouraged and your presence at another recruitment event is necessary.
  • Chadwick Arboretum Service Event
This event is the first recruitment event of the semester. All interested Eagle Scouts are welcome to join current brothers in giving back to the community by helping us do service at the north side of the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center. We will be meeting at the South West corner of the Schottenstein Center at 10 AM. Tools and equipment will be provided, though bringing gloves and warm clothes are recommended.
  • Indoor Sports Night
The second recruitment event of the week entails playing a mix of sports at the RPAC. Come join us and get to know current brothers through some combination of dodgeball, basketball, and volleyball.
  • Indoor Game Night
The third event of the week is a game night where potential candidates can get to know brothers over various board and card games. If you have a game that you’d like to bring, feel free to do so. Otherwise, we will provide a variety of games to play.
  • Donato’s Pizza
Our last event provides an opportunity for potential candidates and current brothers to get to know each other over provided Donatos pizza. This event is a great time to ask questions and learn about the fraternity, as well as getting to know the brothers themselves

If you are offered a bid to join Epsilon Tau Pi, the Formal Rush will occur on Sunday, January 20th. More details will be given later.
